I had the pleasure of speaking with starting point guard D.J. Dobson. D.J. is a Senior and one of the leaders for the Defiance Boys Basketball team.

Myself: How is your season going so far? Is it the way you and your teammates expected it to go?

D.J: It’s going good, we’ve just hit a bump in the road these last couple games but we have still have time to improve with Archbold and St. Mary’s coming up this weekend. For our tourney run, we expected a season like this and we just keep playing to get better.

Myself: What have been some obstacles you and your teammates have had to overcome this season?

D.J: One of our better players going down (Tyrel) he was a great rebounder for us and he was our leading scorer so with him being out it’s been a hole we now have to fill and everyone has to step up and play.

Myself: What was something that you wanted to improve on from last season and have you been able to accomplish it?

D.J: Something that I wanted to get better at was bringing my assist, steals, and points up. Last year towards the end of the season I started to do some good things and I knew I could be doing way better. So senior year I had to come at it and be aggressive and get other people open shots, I have been able to accomplish it I’m one of the top 4 leading NWO in assist per game, steals per game, and also my 3 point percentage.

I appreciate D.J. taking time out of his day to speak with me, best of luck when tournament time hits! Go Bulldogs!
