I had the privilege of talking with senior softball, captain Caileigh Jimenez, to get the inside scoop on the softball team and some of their goals for the season.

Interviewer: So Caileigh, coming into the new season, is there a lot of pressure to reach the regional finals again like last year?

Jimenez: No, there's not a lot of pressure because if we play our game and play how we know how to like last year, we will make it. We take it one step at a time and our first step is winning the WBL.

Interviewer: What do you think is your "upper hand" on your competition this year?

Jimenez: We have a facility and a turf field so when other practices get cancelled and teams can't play, we can because we have that advantage.

Interviewer: With most of your players being upperclassmen, what is a key factor that your team is focusing on to take advantage of the game?

Jimenez: We all have a lot of experience and have played the game since we were little and love it. So we just take our mindsets as an advantage and our attitudes.

Interviewer: Being the only senior captain, what do you wish to leave for the team for next year?

Jimenez: I wish to leave them good memories, hard work ethic, positive thinking, and abilities to set goals and achieve them.

Interviewer: If you could give any advice to younger softball players that will be in the program soon, what would it be?

Jimenez: I would tell them to always work hard and make sure you get to every work out. Keep a great mindset and learn to push yourself for years to come.

Thank you, once again, to Caileigh for allowing me to interview her and to get the inside scoop on how the Lady Bulldogs are going to have a winning season. For more on the Lady Bulldogs, please visit
